NBA: Indiana drug charges tied to Grizzlies' Randolph

RICK CALLAHAN

INDIANAPOLIS — A longtime friend of Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph faces drug dealing charges after he was stopped in Indianapolis driving an SUV owned by the NBA player.

Court documents say the 32-year-old man was arrested May 11 after officers who stopped him for a traffic infraction found more than three ounces of marijuana in a cooler inside the Cadillac Escalade.

Randolph has not been arrested or charged.

Randolph's attorney, John Tompkins, said Thursday that Randolph adamantly denies involvement with any drug activity. He says the man who was arrested is Randolph's longtime friend and takes care of his suburban Indianapolis home.
