Two senior aces — Campbell's Kale Ka'alekahi and Pearl City's Kahana Neal — shared Player of the Year honors in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association's Red Conference Western Division after a recent vote of league coaches.

Both are hard-throwing right-handers who also kept opposing batters off-balance with effective off-speed pitches.

Pearl City led the way with six players selected to the OIA Red West all-star first team: second baseman Reid Ramos, shortstop Chace Numata, outfielders Austin Bali and Jordan Oshiro, Neal and utility player Royce Murai.

Mililani placed first baseman Chad Bolibol, third baseman Andrew Benitez and designated hitter Chase Yamada.

Ka'alekahi's brother, catcher Po'o, and Kapolei outfielder Michael Filio round out the first team.

Pearl City's Gary Nakamoto was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Chargers to their second straight unbeaten regular season and fourth straight West title.
