LOS ANGELES — The Pussycat Doll is now the "Dancing With the Stars" champ.

Hawai'i-born Nicole Scherzinger and partner Derek Hough dominated throughout the 10th season of the hit ABC show and bested Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek to win the "Dancing" competition last night.

Scherzinger performed a high-energy jive as her final dance that earned a perfect score of 30 and inspired head judge Len Goodman to say, "There can only be one winner of 'Dancing With the Stars.' It should be you."

Scherzinger and Hough kissed the mirrorball trophy as they were hoisted on the shoulders of other dancers.

ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews, the third finalist, and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were eliminated halfway through the two-hour season closer.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who's also a Hawai'i native, said Scherzinger's performance was "like a beautiful masterpiece come to life."

U2 TOUR DELAYED AFTER BONO INJURY

After hurting his back during concert rehearsals in Munich, Bono and U2 have been forced to postpone the 16 dates on the band's summer American tour, the band announced yesterday morning. The band also canceled its highly anticipated performance at the Glastonbury music festival.

The band's manager, Paul McGuinness, explained Bono's decision via U2.com. "Our biggest and I believe best tour has been interrupted and we're all devastated ... the most important thing right now is that Bono make a full recovery," he said. "We're working as fast as we can with Live Nation to reschedule these dates."

PALIN EXPECTS NEIGHBOR TO NOSE AROUND

Sarah Palin has taken to her Facebook page to complain about her new neighbor — a writer penning a book about her.

Author Joe McGinniss has taken up residence in a house next to Palin's lakeside home in Wasilla, Alaska.

McGinniss previously wrote a critical expose on Palin and her natural gas pipeline plan for the Conde Nast publication Portfolio last year, and is planning a book about the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate. It's tentatively titled, "Sarah Palin's Year of Living Dangerously" and could be on the shelves in the fall of 2011.

"We're sure to have a doozey to look forward to with this treasure he's penning. Wonder what kind of material he'll gather while overlooking Piper's bedroom, my little garden, and the family's swimming hole?" Palin wrote.

CRIST SUED FOR USING TALKING HEADS TUNE

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is being sued for $1 million for using a Talking Heads song in a campaign ad without the band's permission.

The band's ex-lead singer David Byrne sued the governor Monday in Tampa for using "Road to Nowhere" in an online attack ad against Marco Rubio. He's the likely Republican nominee in the race for Florida's open U.S. Senate seat. Crist is running as an independent.
