HPU softball loses in Super Regional

KANE'OHE — The Hawai'i Pacific softball team lost to Chico State, 5-0, at this afternoon's NCAA Division II Super Regional at its Howard A. Okita Field.

HPU (44-8) plays Chico State (33-19) tomorrow starting at 11 a.m. HPU must win that game and another meeting with Chico State at 1:30 p.m. to win the Super Regional. Chico State needs one more win to clinch a trip to the NCAA finals.

The Sea Warriors were held to four hits today and left the bases loaded in the bottom of the first and fifth. HPU hit into a double play to end the game.

Kelly Head drove in two runs for Chico State.

The Super Regional can be heard on AM 1500.
