Softball: Keilani Ricketts stars as Oklahoma pounds Syracuse 10-0

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Freshman pitcher Keilani Ricketts allowed one hit in four innings and Oklahoma scored in all four of its at-bats as the Sooners routed Syracuse 10-0 on Friday in the first round of an NCAA softball regional.
Lindsey Vandever, Haley Nix and Katie Norris each had two RBIs for Oklahoma (44-10), which will play the winner of the Fordham-Maryland game on Saturday. Syracuse (32-25) will play the Fordham-Maryland loser in an elimination game Saturday.
Oklahoma scored twice in the first on just one hit off Syracuse starter Jenna Caira (19-12), who didn't make it out of the inning.
Oklahoma added three runs in the second, two on a single by Norris. The Sooners added a run in the third and four more in the fourth.
Ricketts (29-8) and reliever Michelle Gascoigne combined for 10 strikeouts and a one-hit shutout. (Ricketts is the sister of University of Hawai'i pitcher Stephanie Ricketts.)
