Hilo's Kimberly Kim moved into a tie for 12th yesterday at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship in Wilmington, N.C. The second round was delayed twice by lightning. Six teams have yet to finish their rounds.

Kim, a University of Denver freshman who qualified as an individual, fired a 1-under-par 71. Her two-day total is 144 and she is seven shots off the pace set by Arizona State's Jennifer Johnson.

Punahou graduate Stephanie Kono, a UCLA sophomore, also shot 71. She is among four Bruins who have a share of 29th at 147. Top-ranked UCLA is fourth in the team standings at 580, 10 shots back of USC.

New Mexico senior Britney Choy, a Leilehua graduate, shot 75 and is tied for 52nd at 149.

The tournament concludes tomorrow.
