Hawaii County police have charged a Kailua, Kona, man in connection with two home break-ins as well as numerous other offenses.

Police say officers responding to a call found Daniel Kamau Grace, 28, in a house shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday.

Police said they had received two separate reports Sunday of a man entering homes in the Kailua View Estates subdivision.

Grace was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a dwelling, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, burglary, promoting a dangerous drug, possessing drug paraphernalia and an unrelated second-degree theft.

Detectives continued the investigation and arrested Grace for two additional offenses, criminal tampering and use of personal information.

Grace is being held in lieu of $18,000 bail pending his initial court appearance.
