Body found at Camp Smith

Hunters in the Camp Smith area reported finding an unidentified body today. Their dogs alerted them to the presence of the corpse, said HFD Capt. Earle Kealoha. No foul play is suspected.
Authorities at Camp Smith released the following statement:
At approximately 12:50 p.m. today, civilian hikers aboard the upper area of Camp Smith spotted what appeared to be a human body more than 60 feet down an incline in a remote ravine.
These hikers' family members called 9-1-1. The Honolulu Police and Fire Departments responded along with Marine Corps Base Hawai'i Military Police and the Federal Fire Department.
They discovered the body of a caucasian male between 40-60 years of age; a small backpack and water were recovered at the scene.
No identification has been made at this time.
According to military investigators, there is currently no indication of foul play. The incident is under investigation.
