'Figuratively Speaking' at Bellagio art gallery: Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art presents "Figuratively Speaking: A Survey of the Human Form." Organized with the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the exhibition includes works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti, Joseph Cornell, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, Judith Shea, Bill Viola, Yoshitomo Nara, Vanessa Beecroft and many others. More than 30 paintings, photographs and sculptures will be on view through Jan. 9.

Tropicana Las Vegas facelift: Tropicana Las Vegas has begun a major renovation for completion by April 2011. On the drawing board: a redesigned facade, new rooms and suites, new amenities, restaurants, bars, entertainment and nightlife options reminiscent of South Beach with an island vibe. The four-acre pool area will become a tropical beach resort and the casino will add a new poker room and race and sports book.

Cirque du Soleil to develop Michael Jackson shows: The Estate of Michael Jackson and Cirque du Soleil have joined to create touring and permanent shows based on the music and songs of Michael Jackson. Projects include a Las Vegas nightclub, an arena-touring show expected to debut in fall 2011. The Las Vegas permanent show, in partnership with MGM Mirage, is expected to open in late 2012. Location and theatrical venue are yet to be announced.

New at Treasure Island: Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall and Bar-B-Que, once a favorite destination at the New Frontier, has re-opened inside Treasure Island. The venue seats 125 people and is accessible from the casino floor and from the Strip near Sirens' Cove. Gilley's offers live music, a dance floor, a mechanical bull and a full-service menu for lunch and dinner.

Hard Rock opens Skybar: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Morgans Hotel Group have opened Skybar above the HRH Beach Club, offering guests a sundeck with acrylic-edge pool during the day and a lounge by night. Skybar features a bar, custom daybeds, cabanas, special menus and signature cocktails.

Sahara Hotel & Casino introduces Latin Vida Nights: Sahara Hotel & Casino transforms its Casbar Lounge into a salsa club each Sunday night throughout summer. Watch and learn from professional salsa dancers.

Pool season arrives in Las Vegas: Las Vegas has kicked off the summer season with a variety of pool parties open to the public:

• The Encore Beach Club and Surrender Nightclub, in the former Encore porte cochere, are both set to open Memorial Day weekend. The 60,000-square-foot Encore Beach Club will be a pool complex featuring 26 cabanas; eight two-story bungalows; a restaurant; and poolside blackjack and craps. The connected Surrender Nightclub is open to the outdoors.

• Liquid Pool Lounge by The Light Group is an adults-only experience at Aria. A state-of-the-art sound system and world-class DJs set a lively mood as guests enjoy the exclusivity and seclusion provided by towering palms.

• Rehab Pool Party at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, celebrates its seventh season, welcoming more than 4,000 partygoers every Sunday.
