Man sentenced to prison for rental car break-in at Kilauea lookout

The National Park Service said today that work by rangers at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park helped lead to the conviction of a man who broke into a rental car at the Kilauea Iki Overlook.

Ashley Kai Larita, 31, of no permanent address, was sentenced last month to nine months in federal prison and three years of supervised released and ordered to pay $632 in restitution.
