Honolulu Family Festival draws biggest crowds ever
About 70,000 people attended this year's Honolulu Family Festival at Magic Island, helping it reach its largest attendance in the event's five years.
Honolulu 100, which oversaw the city's year-long centennial celebration in 2005, made the announcement yesterday. The 2006 festival attracted more than 65,000 people.
The festival ran from Thursday to Sunday. Part of the proceeds will fund improvements at Ala Moana Beach Park.
The Honolulu Family Festival is presented by Mayor Mufi Hannemann, the City and County of Honolulu, Honolulu 100, E.K. Fernandez Shows and the Mayor's Office of Culture and Arts.
