After three rounds in the lead, Honolulu's Tadd Fujikawa shot a 10-over-par 82 yesterday to finish tied for 25th at the Golf in Morocco Classic, an eGolf Professional Tour tournament at Blythewood, S.C.
Fujikawa, a 19-year-old Moanalua High graduate, finished at 3-under 284, 11 strokes behind winner Frank Adams III, who shot a 69 yesterday. Adams earned $34,477, while Fujikawa received $2,328.50.
Fujikawa was seeking his first professional victory outside of Hawai'i. He shared the Morocco lead after the first round and held a two-shot lead after the second and third rounds.
At the Columbia Country Club yesterday, Fujikawa played the front nine in 5 over. He had four bogeys, two birdies and a triple-bogey at No. 5. Fujikawa's tee shot found the water and led to the triple-bogey six.
It didn't get any better on the back nine where he finished with five bogeys and four pars.
Fujikawa is 4-for-4 in cuts on the eGolf Tour this year. Last week he had his best finish, a tie for fifth at the Cabarrus Classic, near Charlotte, N.C. He is 15th on the Tour's money list with $13,988.58.
