A high-surf advisory that was in effect until 5 this afternoon has been canceled.

Big waves and trade wind weather are in the forecast today.

The National Weather Service says waves on north- and west-facing shores will be in the 12- to 16-foot range.
A high-surf advisory that was in effect until 5 this afternoon has been canceled.
Meanwhile, it will be a mostly sunny day, with scattered windward and mauka showers and isolated leeward showers.
The weather service says highs will be 79 to 84 degrees, with trades at 15 to 20 mph.
“Trade winds are expected to steadily increase through Thursday,” the weather service says in its area forecast discussion.
