Corbett Dwiggins had large quantities of cocaine and Ecstasy in his truck when a police officer saw him drive into a garbage truck, according to papers filed in federal court this week.

Police officer Alex Mendez said in an affidavit that the crash occurred at 4:04 a.m. Nov. 11, 2007 at the corner of Pi'ikoi and Kona Streets in Honolulu.

Mendez said Dwiggins appeared to be drunk when he got out of his gray Nissan pickup truck after the collision.

Dwiggins smelled of alcohol, his eyes were red, watery and glassy and he could not produce a driver's license, Mendez said.

After Dwiggins failed a field sobriety test and was arrested, police searched him and found packets of Ecstasy and cocaine as well as $4,096 in cash in his pockets, Mendez said in his affidavit.

A search of the truck turned up 45 more plastic bags of cocaine, the affidavit said.

Laboratory tests later showed that Dwiggins had 330 Ecstasy tablets weighing more than 90 grams and another 34 grams of cocaine, Mendez said.

Dwiggins is charged with felony possession of a dangerous drug with intent to distribute.

Mendez said in his affidavit that he works in a drug task force that includes Ho-no-lulu police officers and agents of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
