A 20-year-old woman who was at the home where the alleged shooting occurred told police the man also threatened her while holding a rifle but she was able to leave the home safely with her two children.
The older woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for a gunshot wound and released.
Police went to the home where they arrested the husband on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening and misdemeanor abuse of a family or household member
