A tree falling onto Pali Highway damaged as many as two cars this morning — and contributed to another car hitting a tree.

It began about 8:40 a.m., when a 60-foot-tall tree toppled onto the highway, near Waokanaka Street.
Initial reports indicated two town-bound cars in the far right lane were hit.
Police briefly closed that lane while crews worked to move the tree and the cars off the roadway.
Shortly before 9:15, with traffic backed up on Pali, a town-bound car swerved to avoid running into the stopped cars and crashed into a tree.
Paramedics treated the driver at the scene and released him.
No other injuries were initially reported.
