CFB: 2 USC football players get extra eligibility

LOS ANGELES — Two Southern California football players will get an extra year of eligibility.
Cornerback Marshall Jones and defensive lineman Hebron Fangupo both had their seasons end early because of injuries in the third game against Washington State last year. The school said they’ve been granted a medical hardship waiver from the Pac-10, giving them an extra season of eligibility.
That leaves both players with two seasons remaining.
USC opens its season at Hawaii on Thursday, Sept. 2.
