Hawaiian Electric repair crew replaces damaged pole

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Electric Co. repair crews were working last night to replace an uprooted utility pole that had shut down traffic on Pi'ikoi Street at Wilder Avenue for much of yesterday.

Winds may have uprooted the pole, but the exact cause was unknown last night.

As the pole dangled from its utility lines, police closed Pi'ikoi Street from 5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. yesterday, HECO spokesman Darren Pai said.
