The NCAA announced the fields of 64 for both the men's and women's basketball Division II national champions and three teams from the Pacific West Conference received invitations.

Dixie State and Brigham Young-Hawai'i earned berths in the men's Western Regional in Bellingham, Wash., while the Hawai'i Pacific women will travel to Seattle for its Regional.

HPU (18-6), which beat to BYU-Hawai'i 88-61 last night, is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance and will play Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion and regional host Seattle Pacific (24-3) in an opening-round game Friday.

BYU-Hawai'i (20-5), which beat HPU 100-84 in its regular-season finale last night, will be playing in its ninth Regional in 12 years. BYUH hosted the West Regional last year but lost to Cal Poly Pomona in the final.

Dixie State (20-5) will be making its first regional appearance and received an at-large bid after sharing the league title with BYUH. BYUH received the Pac-West's automatic regional berth by virtue of tiebreakers over Dixie State.

Friday's opening-round matchups will be announced today. The semifinals will be played Saturday and the regional final is scheduled for Monday.

The winners of each the eight men's regionals will advance to the Elite Eight, March 24-27 in Springfield, Mass. The women's Elite Eight will be played March 23-26 in St. Joseph, Mo.
