Report: Gib Arnold to be released from USC assistant job

Gib Arnold, a prospective candidate for the University of Hawai‘I men's basketball coaching job, will be released from the Southern California staff, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The newspaper said Arnold and Phil Johnson, both holdovers from Tim Floyd's coaching staff at USC, will be released by the current coach, Kevin O'Neill.
Arnold and Johnson have each been at USC for five years.
The Times said no official announcement has yet been made and gave no reason for their release.
