Volleyball Warriors sweep Cal State Northridge

Jonas Umlauft had 17 kills and Joshua Walker added 16 to give No. 8 Hawai‘i a 35-33, 31-29, 30-19, victory over No. 3 Cal State Northridge today and a split of a two-match Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball series at Northridge, Calif.

The Warriors are 11-6 overall and 7-5 in the MPSF. Northridge is 13-6 and 10-6.
Walker added six blocks and three aces, and Ric Cervantes had nine digs for the Warriors.
After a 30-kill night in a five-set win on Friday, CSUN's Jacek Ratajczak had nine kills today. John Baker led the Matadors with 14 kills.
The Warriors broke a 33-all tie in the first set with consecutive kills by Umlauft and Ernie Vidinha. A kill by Umlauft and a hitting error by Baker gave UH the second set. The Warriors never trailed in the third set, going out to a 4-1 lead.
