Man, 30, indicted on arson charges in apartment fire
A 30-year-old man who allegedly set a McCully apartment building fire that left four families homeless was indicted yesterday on a charge of first-degree arson.
Kevin Yang is accused of starting the Friday blaze that destroyed two apartments and heavily damaged two others at a Hau'oli Street building.
The fire started in the unit where Yang lived and "he was seen running away" from the scene, Deputy Prosecutor Lynn Park said in court yesterday morning.
Circuit Judge Richard Perkins set bail at $100,000 after Park said Yang is considered dangerous and is now "transient and homeless."
