Wrong I.D., credit cards lead to woman’s arrest at hospital

Advertiser Staff

A 37-year-old Manoa woman was arrested Tuesday after she was taken to Straub Clinic and Hospital to be treated for a possible drug overdose.

Police were told the woman was brought to the hospital and her personal items inventoried by a nurse upon arrival.

After the woman was treated, a second nurse was preparing to return the items to her when she noticed the patient had an I.D. card, driver's license and several credit cards bearing the names of other people.

Police were called to the hospital, and after a short investigation, determined the checks, I.D. and credit cards had been reported stolen during a car break-in.

The woman was then arrested about 12:30 p.m. on suspicion of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.
