Wailuku house fire ruled accidental
Maui fire officials said a fire at a Wailuku home this morning was accidental. Estimated damage was $2,500 to the contents and $5,000 to the structure.
The fire was reported at 7:05 a.m. in the two-story home on Nani Street and burned an upstairs unit. Twenty firefighters brought the fire under control by 7:12 a.m. and it was extinguished by 7:16 a.m.
There were no injuries though two individuals were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. No other structures were affected.
