FOR HAITI'S SAKE
Honolulu's only burlesque troupe is taking it off (tastefully, always tastefully) for charity. What better reason, right?
The Cherry Blossom Cabaret will headline a show that will include a long list of other local performers who will be putting on a super-packed show of everything from beatboxing to belly dancing.
The show, dubbed Aloha for Haiti, will be held from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. tonight at The Mercury Bar, with all of the door proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders, a volunteer humanitarian organization of trained medical professionals who are aiding in the Haiti earthquake disaster.
Entertainers include beatboxer Jason Tom, belly dancer Willow Chang, Brazilian dance troupe Samba Axe, slam poet Bridget Gray, Dakini Dance Company, Honolulu's only long-form improv comedy theater Laughtrack Theater, and DJs Jetboy and Rolando de la Vega.

LIKE A DIAMOND IN THE SKY
Mars is in opposition today, which is fancy astronomy talk to say that Mars is as close to Earth as it will be in its current orbit, making it extra visible from Earth. Mars will rise tonight at sunset, be overhead all night, and set at sunrise. It will shine as bright as the brightest star, Sirius. Don't forget to look up.
