Average speed on Hawaii's interstates among nation's slowest

Hawaiçi drivers are the slowest of any state when it comes to driving on interstate highways, according to a report on highway speeds in the U.S.

The report for TomTom, a maker of navigational products, found that Washington D.C. had the slowest highway drivers with an average of 46 miles an hour. Among states, Hawaiçi had the most unhurried pace at 53 miles an hour.
Mississippi was the fastest, with drivers speeding along at just more than 70 miles an hour.
The report said that data from GPS users shows drivers tend to stay within speed limit ranges on most highways.
