Adrienne Johnson amassed 16 points and 11 rebounds as Louisiana Tech defeated visiting Hawai'i, 75-62, last night in a Western Athletic Conference women's basketball game at Ruston, La.

Shanavia Dowdell, the reigning WAC Player of the Year, had 14 points and 16 rebounds and Whitney Jones added 18 points for the Lady Techsters (12-4, 3-1).

Reserve forward Allie Patterson led the Rainbow Wahine (8-11, 2-4) with 18 points, including five in the final 1:36 to help UH trim a 20-point deficit to 13 at the buzzer.

Dita Liepkalne added 15 points and Rebecca Dew 10 for Hawai'i, which trailed 44-26 at the half but got as close as 65-55 on Dew's jumper with 6:18 to play.

Louisiana Tech responded with a 10-0 run to seize control at 75-55 with 2:20 remaining.

The Rainbow Wahine complete their two-game road trip tomorrow at Boise State, starting at 4 p.m. Hawai'i time.

Brian Green made five 3-pointers and scored 17 points, and Jared Quayle added 13 points, helping the defending WAC champion and visiting Aggies (14-6, 4-2) hand the Bulldogs (10-10, 3-3) their third straight loss.
