Adrienne Johnson amassed 16 points and 11 rebounds as Louisiana Tech defeated visiting Hawai'i, 75-62, last night in a Western Athletic Conference women's basketball game at Ruston, La.
Shanavia Dowdell, the reigning WAC Player of the Year, had 14 points and 16 rebounds and Whitney Jones added 18 points for the Lady Techsters (12-4, 3-1).
Reserve forward Allie Patterson led the Rainbow Wahine (8-11, 2-4) with 18 points, including five in the final 1:36 to help UH trim a 20-point deficit to 13 at the buzzer.
Dita Liepkalne added 15 points and Rebecca Dew 10 for Hawai'i, which trailed 44-26 at the half but got as close as 65-55 on Dew's jumper with 6:18 to play.
Louisiana Tech responded with a 10-0 run to seize control at 75-55 with 2:20 remaining.
The Rainbow Wahine complete their two-game road trip tomorrow at Boise State, starting at 4 p.m. Hawai'i time.

Kayla Pedersen scored 23 points and the visiting Cardinal (16-1, 6-0 Pac-10) pulled away in the second half to beat the Beavers (9-7, 1-5) for their seventh straight victory since an 80-68 loss to top-ranked Connecticut.

Porsha Phillips scored the go-ahead basket with 39 seconds remaining, then added two free throws that clinched the host Bulldogs' (18-1, 5-1 SEC) upset of the Lady Vols (16-2, 4-1).

Jantel Lavender had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Samantha Prahalis added 13 points, to help the visiting Buckeyes (20-1, 8-0 Big Ten) hold off the Spartans (10-8, 2-6) for their 12th straight victory.

Krystal Thomas scored 17 points and Jasmine Thomas added 14 as the host Blue Devils (16-3, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) beat the Hokies (11-7, 1-3) for the 12th consecutive time.

Matt Bouldin scored 32 points and the host Bulldogs (15-3, 4-0) made their 41-29 halftime lead stand up in beating the Waves (7-13, 3-1) to take sole possession of first place in the West Coast Conference.

Adrian Oliver scored a career-high 39 points as the host Spartans (10-8, 3-3 Western Athletic Conference) snapped the Bulldogs' (17-3, 5-1) 10-game winning streak and handed them their first WAC loss of the season.
UTAH STATE 69, FRESNO STATE 43
Brian Green made five 3-pointers and scored 17 points, and Jared Quayle added 13 points, helping the defending WAC champion and visiting Aggies (14-6, 4-2) hand the Bulldogs (10-10, 3-3) their third straight loss.
