Tread for Bread Day tomorrow at Waimea Valley
Advertiser Staff
In an effort to increase awareness of Waimea Valley as a cultural and fitness destination and also introduce GreenFleet Hawaii to the North Shore, the first “Tread for Bread Day" will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow across from Waimea Bay.
The Tread for Bread program is designed to promote a healthy lifestyle and to reinforce the concept of renewable energy through personal responsibility and sharing.
GreenFleet Hawaii encourages residents not to “waste their extra calories” but to donate them to the Hawaii Food Bank and I.H.S.
To do so, track the distance traveling you accumulate on a daily basis from walking, running or hiking, input the data into a GreenFleet pedometer application and calculate the amount of calories you burn.
GreenFleet then stores the donated calories and at the end of each quarter, weighs all donated calories from all Tread for Breaders and makes a donation to the Hawaii FoodBank and I.H.S.
Participants are also available to win quarterly prizes and giveaways.

Tomorrow’s activities are free.
