Open houses will consider Kīpahulu district of park
The National Park Service will hold public open houses this week beginning today to help shape the future of the Kīpahulu section of Haleakalā National Park, the Maui News reported.
The park service is in the process of developing a master plan for the Kīpahulu district of the park, which will focus on improving visitor experience, natural and cultural resource protection and park operations.
The open houses will be today at Helene Hall in Hāna, tomorrow at the Kalena Center in Kīpahulu and Thursday at the Ha'ikū Community Center. All meetings are from 5 to 7 p.m.
