MLB: Sherrill, Loney, Kuo agree with Dodgers

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES — First baseman James Loney and relievers George Sherrill and Hong-Chih Kuo have agreed to one-year contracts with the Los Angeles Dodgers and avoided salary arbitration.

Loney agreed to $3.1 million deal Tuesday, while Sherrill will make $4.5 million and Kuo $950,000.

Just three Dodgers remain in arbitration: outfielder Andre Ethier, catcher Russell Martin and closer Jonathan Broxton.

Loney made $465,000 last year when he batted .281 with 13 homers and 90 RBIs while playing in all but four regular-season games.

Sherrill made $2.75 million after beginning last season with the Baltimore Orioles, who traded the former All-Star to Los Angeles on July 30.

Kuo went 0-2 with a 3.00 ERA last season, making $437,000.
