Diamond Head Road, which was closed Friday afternoon because of falling rocks, will remain closed, Honolulu police said.

At 5 p.m., police said it was unclear when the road would reopen.
Around a dozen or more basketball-size rocks reportedly fell onto the roadway at approximately 4 p.m Friday. There were no injuries, but the road was closed until engineers from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources could assess the hillside where the rocks had fallen.
The road will remain closed overnight Saturday and into Sunday to vehicle traffic between the first and third lookouts, police said. Pedestrians and bicycles will be allowed into the area.
The rockfall happened at a place where officials have placed concrete Jersey barriers along the mauka shoulder of the road.
