Big North Shore surf to start dropping Monday

Advertiser staff

Surf heights on the North Shore will gradually start decreasing Monday, the National Weather Service said.

But a high-surf warning remains in effect through 6 p.m.
Surf heights of 20 to 25 feet were expected on the North Shore Monday morning.
There were no surf-related reports of damage Sunday, when surf reached heights of 25 to 30 feet.
Meanwhile, the west-facing shores of Oçahu and Molokaçi were expected to see surf heights of 6 to 12 feet.
The weather service is warning people to steer clear of the big waves, and to be aware that waves could crash onto roads in some areas.
