An elderly male pedestrian was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition yesterday after a vehicle hit him at the intersection of A'ala Street and North Vineyard Boulevard.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said paramedics were sent out on the call shortly before 3 p.m.

Paramedics treated and stabilized the man before taking him to the hospital, Cheplic said.
