The Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim of a New Year's Day shooting in Waipahu as Kamuela Kaleikilo, 22, of Waimānalo.

Determination of cause of death awaits toxicology reports, the office said.

Police have charged Chadwick Tadly, 37, with second-degree murder. He also was charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Police responded to an early-morning report of a shooting at apartment building on Leolua Street. Arrests were made at about 6:43 a.m. Friday, after police received a call from a woman who said someone had been shot.

When police arrived, no one answered the door, but when they looked through a window, officers saw a man lying in a pool of blood.

The officers entered and found Tadly and two other males, ages 17 and 18, in the apartment.
