Sales of existing homes on Oçahu rose in December, but median prices were lower, continuing a general trend of the last few months.

The Honolulu Board of Realtors reported 265 sales of single-family homes last month, a 37 percent increase from 194 sales in December 2008.
The median price was $550,000, down 12 percent from $626,500 in the same period.
For condominiums, there were 349 sales last month, a 44 percent increase from 243 sales in December 2008.
The median price was $300,000, down 2 percent from $305,000.
