Punahou two-time all-state offensive lineman Kaiwi Crabb has verbally committed to play football at Colorado.
“I went up there for two camps and went there for junior day and I went there for my official visit (Nov. 7),” Crabb said. “I really liked it. I like (head coach) Dan Hawkins and what he’s doing with the program. I like the O-line coach Denver Johnson and their linebackers coach Brian Cabral is from Hawai‘i, so I liked that too. Lot of Hawai‘i boys up there. On top of that, great school and great environment. A great place to be.”
The 6-foot-5, 272-pound senior was a first-team all-state selection as a junior and second-team pick as a senior.
Crabb said he will redshirt his freshman year. Colorado was the only school he visited, he said. He added he also had offers from Washington, Arizona and Hawai‘i.
