Advertiser Staff
Hype 5-0, the first hip-hop crew selected to represent Hawaii in MTV’s “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew” will compete tonight in the second round show’s season-five nationals.
Last week, the seven-member Oahu crew competed successfully against a total of eight other crews from west, east and south regions. Earlier this month, the crew competed with four other crews representing the west in a regional competition. Hype 5-0 was among the top three selected by judges to advance to the national competition.
At the end of tonight’s show, which will air at 10 p.m. Hawaii time, one crew will be eliminated from the ongoing national competition.
Fans will be encouraged to vote for their favorite crew. During tonight’s show, hosts will provide phone numbers and other information about voting, which will be under way for a short period.
Hype 5-0 includes: Josh “Hazmat” Ulep, 22, of Wailua; Brittnie Aguilar, 18, of Mililani; Casey Kalahiki, 23, of Honolulu; Marc “Dueynutz” Duey, 21, of Kapolei; Jonathan “Ramones” Ramones, 18, of Ewa; William “Nessy” Soares III, 19, of Honolulu; and Allen-Charles “Brain” Pascual, 26, of Ewa.
