SPOKANE, Wash. — As expected, William H. Moos is the new athletic director at Washington State University.

The former WSU football player and later Oregon and Montana athletic director was named Wednesday to succeed Jim Sterk, who left recently for San Diego State.
The 59-year-old Moos will start his new duties no later than May 1, and is expected to sign a seven-year contract.
Details of the contract were not immediately released.
