Save the date: Friends of the Library book sale

Advertiser Staff

Bookworms who plan their summer schedule around the annual Friends of the Library Book Sale will want to mark off the tentative 2010 dates, June 18-27.

The book sale committee has begun meeting and volunteers are being recruited to help stock and sell books. (Call the Friends of the Library of Hawaii at 536-4174.)
The sale begins with a members-only night June 18 and continues with shelves replenished throughout the run of the sale. (The Friends literally has more books than it accommodate for the sale, but plans soon to open a new year-round bookstore.)
The Friends support the work of the state's libraries through grants for librarian training and conferences, the annual Librarian of the Year awards program and funding for services and items not covered by the state budget.
