Transfer station unable to accept loose mixed waste

Advertiser Staff

Due to electrical problems, loose mixed waste is not being accepted at the Hanapēpē transfer station until further notice, the Garden Island newspaper reported.

The facility is still accepting bagged trash, along with green waste, scrap metals, propane tanks, and residential used motor and cooking oil for recycling.

Residents wishing to dispose of loose mixed waste during this period can take their items to the Līhu'e refuse transfer station or the Kekaha Landfill.

For more information, call the county Solid Waste Division at 241-4839.
