Tetris Online Inc., the Hawai'i company that is the exclusive online licensee of the Tetris Co., said a downloadable game that was sold via Wii's online store is being enhanced and is set to be sold on retail shelves this summer.

Tetris said the "Tetris Party" game has been enriched with new modes and features and will be released in North America as Tetris Party Deluxe in June.

The game will be made for both Wii and Nintendo DS.

Tetris Online President and Chief Executive Officer Minoru Arakawa said it began working with Tetris Party developer Hudson Soft after seeing how well it was received at the WiiWare online store.

Arakawa said the work included developing a more impressive version of the game with the goal of reaching larger audiences through retail sales.

Tetris Online also said it had formed a partnership with Majesco Entertainment Co. to help support the launch and distribution of Tetris Party Deluxe.
