A federal jury in Honolulu has convicted a husband-and-wife pair of psychologists of five counts of tax evasion and one charge of conspiring to evade income taxes.

David Opollo Ross and Lei Lavarias Ross face up to five years in prison for each of the counts. They’re due to be sentenced in June.
Prosecutors alleged that the Rosses concealed more than $1.8 million they earned from the state and charitable organizations for providing contracted psychology services.
They also allegedly failed to pay $230,000 in incomes taxes they owned on the funds.
David Ross, who is 40, and Lei Ross, who is 38, became licensed psychologists in Hawaiçi in 1997. The jury rendered its verdict Tuesday.
