City to close part of Ulehawa Beach Park for improvement work

A stretch of Ulehawa Beach Park in Nänäkuli, from the drainage channel to the area fronting 87-1386 Farrington Highway, will be closed for maintenance and repair during the last two weeks of March, the city announced Wednesday.

The park will be closed from 10 p.m. March 14 until 3 p.m. March 25 as part of an ongoing city effort to make park improvements.
The first phase of the project concentrated on the area between Lualualei Depot Road and the drainage canal.
Phase II will include repainting the comfort station, repairing and painting tables and benches, repairing irrigations systems and other infrastructure, and performance extensive landscape maintenance.
Once the work is completed, the park will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
