Kailua Beach lifeguards report no oily sheen on the water Monday morning and said they had not received any complaints from beachgoers.
The report comes from Bryan Cheplic of the city's Emergency Services Department.
On Sunday, numerous beachgoers complained to lifeguards of coming into contact with a slippery substance that seemed to taste like oil.
Ligeguards saw a brown and green oily type sheen approximately 150 yards in length and 50 yards in width in offshore waters fronting the Kailua Beach Park boat ramp area.
