An infant nearly drowned yesterday in a Kaneohe swimming pool.

The child was taken to a hospital in critical condition at 3:53 p.m., said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city’s Department of Emergency Services.
The near drowning occurred on Mapumapu Road, Cheplic said.
When paramedics arrived, a man was performing CPR on the baby.
