A helicopter tour company while flying reported seeing a SOS written on Kalalau Beach, Kauai county officials said.

The identity of the body is unknown, said Mary Daubert, county spokesman.
After reporting the SOS at 2:30 p.m., Kauai Police flew into the valley and found a dead body, Daubert said. After returning to Princeville Airport to pickup rescue personnel, they returned to the beach where rescue personnel spoke to people in the area and located the body. Rescuers brought the body back to the landing pad and returned to the Princeville Airport about 6 p.m.
