UH volleyball drops to No. 8

Two losses to UCLA last week led to a drop in the national rankings for the University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team.
The Warriors fell two spots to No. 8 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I-II poll released yesterday.
Cal State Northridge (9-2) remained No. 1, followed by Southern California (7-3), UCLA (6-5), BYU (7-4) and Stanford (5-3).
Northridge received 11 first-place votes with Southern Cal (3) and UCLA (2) receiving the remaining No. 1 votes.
The Warriors (6-5) host Alberta, Canada, in exhibition matches Friday and Saturday.
BASEBALL
UH INDIVIDUAL GAME TICKETS GO ON SALE
University of Hawai'i baseball individual game tickets are on sale online and at the Stan Sheriff Center box office.
Tickets are $8 in the lower and mid levels. Adult tickets in the upper level are $6, with senior citizens for $5 and student tickets in the upper level for $3. Mänoa Maniac tickets in lower JJ are $5.
Tickets can be purchased at www.HawaiiAthletics.com or the Stan Sheriff Center box office, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or call 944-2697 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Hawai'i opens the regular season Feb. 19 against No. 10 Oregon State at Les Murakami Stadium.
TENNIS
LOYOLA MARYMOUNT EDGES UH WOMEN
Loyola Marymount rallied to defeat the University of Hawai'i women's tennis team, 4-3, yesterday at the LMU Tennis Center in Los Angeles.
After LMU won the doubles point by winning 2 of 3 matches, the Rainbow Wahine got victories from Barbara Pinterova, Sophie Kobuch and Natasha Zorec in the first four singles matches to take a 3-2 lead.
But the Lions got victories from Estelle La Porte and Bliss Nixon to take the match.
The Rainbow Wahine fell to 1-3 on the season.
