OliverMcMillan, the new developer of the partially built Pacifica condominium tower in Kaka'ako, reported selling 138 units over the weekend.

The results, when added to 108 sales earlier to people whose reservations had been canceled by the tower's previous developer, bring 67 percent of its market units under contract.

The tower previously known as Moana Vista has a total of 489 units, but 124 will be offered for sale at a later date under a state affordable-housing program that places restrictions on buyer incomes, resale terms and prices.

FIRST INSURANCE CO. STILL RATED 'A'

A.M. Best Co. reaffirmed its "A" rating for locally based First Insurance Co.

The New Jersey-based credit rating agency, which specializes in health care service industries, cited First Insurance for its healthy earnings, strong brand-name recognition and diverse product offerings.

First Insurance has earned the "A" rating every year since 1997, the company said.

NEW OAKLAND/SAN DIEGO FLIGHTS TO MAUI

Hawaiian Airlines will launch new seasonal flights connecting Maui with Oakland and San Diego this summer.

The daily flights are scheduled between June 17 and Sept. 6.

The airline said it will offer an introductory round-trip fare of $428 on the route for a limited time. The special fare, limited to availability, can be purchased online through Feb. 19. Other restrictions may apply.

WARD CENTERS OFFERS FUNDRAISING OPTION

Ward Centers is offering nonprofit organizations and school groups an opportunity to raise money during the Friends+Family+Community ReWARDS weekend, April 9 to 11.

Participating nonprofit groups will begin selling tickets for the event on March 1 and keep 100 percent of their ticket proceeds.

The $5 tickets give shoppers discounts and special offers from participating shops and restaurants throughout Ward Centers. Nonprofits interested in participating are urged to attend an informational meeting at 9 a.m. Feb. 18 in Ward Warehouse's Kaka'ako Conference Room.
