A driver who was killed Saturday night in a one-car accident at Yokohama Beach Park was burned beyond recognition and has not been identified, police said.

The 7:26 p.m. crash occurred at 81-601 Farrington Highway near Satellite Tracking Center Road, near Yokohama Bay.
The blue, four-door, 2009 Nissan that belonged Enterprise Rent-A-Car left the road, went over a cliff, landed on the rocks near the ocean and burst into flames, police said.
It is not known if speed or alcohol were involved, police said.
Shortly before the accident a passer-by saw the car parked alongside the makai side of the highway. Then 10 minutes later, the same person saw the burning car on the rocks below the highway.
City paramedics pronounced a patient dead at 8:50 p.m., according to Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's Emergency Services Department.
Due to the extent of the burns, paramedics were not able to determine the age or gender of the victim, Cheplic said.
The patient was the only person tended to by paramedics.
