Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann will hold a rail transit update public meeting 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the state Capitol auditorium.

The presentation on "Jobs, The Economy, And Our Island's Future," will include a question-and-answer session with the mayor.
The public meeting will include a panel discussion that includes, economist Paul Brewbaker, U.S. Sen. Dan Inouye's chief of staff Jennifer Goto-Sabas, First Hawaiian Bank board chairman and Hawaii Business Roundtable executive committee member Don Horner, and American Institute of Architects member Shaun Ushijima.
"Job creation is the number one priority of every decision maker in
Hawaii," Hannemann said in a prepared statement."Rail construction is the best source of new jobs in the state and the best economic engine we have during this recession. It is vital we provide the public first-hand information about the status of this
important project that will better our quality of life."
